Final Results of Busby SEO Test

Even if we didn’t win the first prize, yet it is still another milestone achieved…pinayspeak.com by Ricos is the first ever Filipino Participant to win in the Busby SEO World Cup.

Busby SEO Test is the 2nd challenge from Busby Search Engine Optimisation World Cup. They invited SEO specialists, GURU’s, masters and hot shots to compete over a 4 month period to gain the highest position they can achieve on Google (USA Google Data Center). The rule is to set up your own website and optimise it for the key phrase Busby SEO Test. It begun on 1st October 2008 (12:00 midday), Western Australia time and ended on 31st January 2009 (12:00 midday), Western Australia time.

Prizes were awarded to the contestants whose site is ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th on the finish date on Google.

Prize

Midway prize – $1000 to the entrant who has the highest Average ranking on January 5 on Google (USA Google Data Center – http://72.14.207.99)

Invite The Most Friends: iPod Touch (Entrant Who Invites The most Friends, Who then Register and compete for the competition)

Most Creative Content : iPod Touch (Entrant who has the most creative content on their website as judged by the Busby panel)

Pinayspeak.com/pinaytest won the second prize and the Midway Prize with an astounding record through the effort of Richer Finez aka “Ricos” and of course the remarkable support given by some unselfish Filipino SEO gurus.

Whew, now I know how it feels like to be an acrobat performer. Acrobatics came from the Greek word Akros which means high and bat, walking. So much like a Busby SEO Test contestant, who lives with hopes set high and lives like a bat that are awake at night.

So, what else do we have in common with Acrobats, let see and compare:

Acrobats are skilled in difficult feats of balance, agility and motor coordination. Busby SEO Test contestants must have those talents, too.

Acrobats commonly travel with their circus friends who include clowns,    trapeze acts, hoopers, jugglers, unicyclists, trained animals, and other stunt-oriented artists. We all have those in these contest, someone who amazes us with their funny antics, with their dangerous acts like knife throwing (the backstabbers! ) and fire eating (those who spit hot comments and accusations)

And in the end, just like any circus acts, we will hear the cheering of the crowds, their deafening applauses of appreciation for a wonderful performance. Hope everybody had a fun time in this grueling 4 months of unforgettable experience.

As I was always saying, aside from the experience and prize of this contest, I am also very much after gaining friends from this contest. Honestly at this moment, I am already enjoying the camaraderie of my new-found-friends from all over the world.

I really worked my ass off just to have a good standing in this contest, so please understand that aside from being extremely busy in the contest, I was also busy earning a living of sort.

I do appreciate all your comments, but if they haven’t been able to hit the page where they should be, my deepest apology. Just blame it to Mr. Busy and Mr. Strategy!

Today is the beginning of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Ox and it seems that the Ox is favoring this little Rooster over here at Busby SEO Test. But seem that Google changing everyday as Google Dance.

Thanks to all the hard work and Divine intervention that helped, I’m just so glad to say that Pinayspeak is finally back, with just 5 days to go before the Final.

Actually, there is more reason to celebrate because after that steep downfall last January 10, I almost lost the willpower to fight until the last. But thanks to everybody who have supported me on that dark days, because the truth is, you are all behind the strength that have propelled me to work harder.  No matter what happen on January 31, the fact that I was able to wriggle out of number 8 is already an achievement, but of course we are still praying to win!

Here are some nice to know trivia and facts on how our Chinese friends celebrates the New Year, I think Chinese people have the most colorful and eventful New Year celebration in all.

Do you know that:

-    In Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. 15 days? Whew, I think that is the longest happy celebration ever. That even people can have weeks of holiday-break just to prepare and celebrate.

-    The ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal’s year would have some of that animal’s personality. Now, I am glad I was born on the year of the Rooster! In America rooster says cock-a-doodle-doo, here in the Philippines  rooster says tik-tilaok, but in Busby SEO TEST, the rooster says – Pinayspeak.com!

-    At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children “lucky money” in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits. Obviously, many of the Filipino’s tradition came from the Chinese. But, perhaps this is one cultural infusion I am not against continuing, because I think it made our celebration even livelier and happier. I just can’t imagine a Filipino New Year without this tradition of preparing for the good luck and avoiding the bad luck.

-    The lantern festival is held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Some of the lanterns may be works of art, painted with birds, animals, flowers, zodiac signs, and scenes from legend and history. People hang glowing lanterns in temples, and carry lanterns to an evening parade under the light of the full moon. One highlight of these festival is the dragon dance, we may be not too familiar with the lantern thing, but I think most of us are familiar with the dragon dance. Some Filipino and tourist are actually looking forward in seeing a dragon dance in China Town, Manila.

This only means that there was really a big change in the way Google is doing its searching and ranking. So, my advice is to create the best content, with complete information as much as possible and to use the best title to get the best results in searching.

I am currently observing this method if this will really help me in Busby SEO Test. I am doing my best to catch up in time for the final countdown and I am hoping and praying that I would succeed in this race.
