Van is Saved from PDA Probation

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Good news for all the fans of this charming Cebuano, he is saved from probation by his fellow scholars.

Anyway, I think it was a sure strategy because obviously Van is much closer as a friend to the majority of the scholars compared to Miguel, Laarni and Apple. But if the Mentors didn’t save Bunny, the votes of the scholars would be divided between the two.

But if I were to choose among Migue, Laarni and Apple… I believe it is already time for Miguel to go. Many chances were already given to him but up to this he still remains the same Miguel we knew before.

While Apple and Laarni despite despite being sometimes “supladita” , talent wise… people would still want to see them on Gala Night.

Aiza Seguerra | wins P2 million at Singing Bee

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Grabe!! That was the term I can only think o… Aiza Seguerra is really a genius and bright “woman”!

She was the Singing Bee Champion last Monday June 7, then she came back on Tuesday to defend her title, again on Wednesday and that was the time she won her first 1 million.

And last night, she did it again… she was able to sing correctly the lyrics of  4 out of seven songs and that made her another 1 million richer. She won a total of P2,080.000 for
The whole crowd is cheering for her but then she announced that she won’t defend her title anymore because she feels she had enough and would gladly give the chance to others.

And that the money she won would be used for her brother who is in the hospital.

Aiza  is a former child star, who made a notable comeback in showbiz, as a singer with her hit song “Pagdating ng Panahon”. She joined the “Singing Bee” also to promote her latest album “Open Arms” under Star Records.

The Much Awaited Pinoy Dream Academy Season II

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

pda

Here is the official statement from ABS-CBN for the much awaited PDA Season II launching …

Ryan Cayabyab and Billy Crawford were formally welcomed into the Pinoy Dream Academy family during a July 3 presscon for the second season. Along with hosts Toni Gonzaga and Nikki Gil and Season 1 mentors Joey Reyes, Kitchy Molina, and Monet Silvestre, the two new inclusions promise to make PDA into one exciting show.

Maestro Ryan, who has been teaching music for over two decades, will take over headmaster duties from Jim Paredes, who has decided to return to Australia. International pop-R&B sensation Billy will be hosting the daily afternoon show Uberture, giving updates and other factoids on the PDA Dreamers. Toni will host the primetime edition of PDA while Nikki will be delivering daily updates. Toni and Billy will also host the weekly performance and expulsion nights.

Another new aspect of the show is the inclusion of a live-in voice mentor. Monet Silvestre will be staying inside the house to provide guidance to the scholars both in and out of the classroom. “This is something you should look forward to because it is a different take on PDA. Ibang klase,” Headmaster Ryan says. Voice master Kitchy and performance master Joey are also back to help mold the scholar’s talents and personalities.

This new season also heralds the start of including Little Big Dreamers into the show. These are younger singing aspirants who will also undergo classes and have a special performance every Sunday. Out of these young contenders, there will also be a top three students, just like the PDA scholars. “The academy will be open to them on weekends, but they will come in later on. We thought we should also open it up to younger aspirants. Kasi ‘di ba the younger they are, the better to teach the kids. Since nandito na yung PDA, hindi pa naman alam kung kelan mangyayari yung Little Big Star, we’re already opening it to younger singers. Mas importante yung may matutunan sila kesa yung competition itself. So abangan ninyo nalang yun,” shares PDA Business Unit Head Lauren Dyogi.

Pinoy Dream Academy - Scholars make banners through “legwork”

Scholars make banners through “legwork”
June 18, 2008 1:06 AM

Teacher Monet gave the Scholars a banner making activity. The two organizations were tasked to create a banner that will represent their respective teams. Aside from being a test of creativity, Teacher Monet’s goal in this activity is to refresh the real objectives why the Scholars are inside the Academy. He wanted both teams to be constantly reminded of these objectives every time they see their masterpieces hanging on their corresponding tambayans.

In terms of creativity, Pupilars had the edge over One Voice since the Singing Interior Designer Cris is in their team. Being artistically inclined, Cris took the honor of drawing all their faces on the banner.

After spending hours of being pre-occupied with the banner making activity that all of them seemed to enjoy, Teacher Monet gave an additional instruction to make the activity more interesting. Given the last 30 minutes to finish their banners, both teams were instructed to finish it using their bare feet. The task wasn’t really as easy as it seemed, and after the task, the teams couldn’t help but be thankful that they were given arms to use. Some Scholars displayed great amount of talent using their hands, but one scholar did better using a foot.

On the other side of the room, murmurs and whispers were filling the air once again. One Voice team Scholars had a night of heart to heart discussion, but it seemed that their consolidation exercise that was attended by Teacher Monet didn’t actually end all the unspoken wars within the team. Little do some Scholars from One Voice org know that behind their backs, there are still voices that could be heard playing out of tune.

One Voice organization had been on the losing end for many times, and one probable reason for these defeats is lack of the true essence of teamwork in their group. Who is who? What is actually breaking them apart? Stay tuned on Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 and find the answers. article taken PinoDreamAcadamy.ph

Hana Kimi in Pinay Version?

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

The two version of Hana Kimi that were shown here in the Philippines… Hana Kimi Japanese version on GMA 7 and Hana Kimi Taiwanese Version in ABS - CBN - both struggled to enter the Top Ten on TV Ratings.

Maybe will have a Pinoy version coz My Girl in ABS - CBN and Kim Sam Soon in GMA7 have already.

So watch out for that version… :)

Precious Lara Quigaman of Wowowee | Evicted

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

precious-lar-quigaman removal from wowowee
After almost two weeks of no electricity here in our place due to the Typhoon Cosme… all things are getting back to its normal order again. TV viewing as usual and we only noticed recently that Lara Quigaman is not in Wowowee anymore.

It turned out that the main reason of her removal from Wowowee after their show in Hawaii is most likely because she brought her “boyfriend” to Hawaii. Even though her “boyfriend” paid his own ticket and accommodation, it was disclosed by Pokwang that even before the show Willie is already informing them about the “no-boyfriend” rule in Hawaii. But still she was accompanied by her “boyfriend”.

Even Lara is not expecting that she would be removed from the program right after their Hawaii show.

Whether her eviction is due to work-ethics or the alleged “selos” lang ni Willie, Lara would still be missed in Wowowee.

Precious Lara Quigaman is Miss International 2005.

Grilling of the Grand Council | PBB Teen Plus

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

The remaining 5 housemates of the PBB Teen Edition Plus were grilled before the Grand Council, composed of the evicted housemates and guardians on their Day 71.

The idea is to uncover their real personalities, to help voters choose wisely. But for others the concept of the Grand Council is just too stressful and traumatic experience emotionally for the housemates.

The questions hurled to Ejay, Beauty, Robi, Nicole and Alex were too bias and doesn’t necessarily concern what the “taong-bayan” actually thinks but are mostly personal sentiments of the evicted housemates plus their guardians.

Didn’t it ever occurred to the PBB staff, that their concept of the Grand Council complete with those horrible costumes and effects might just be nerve-racking encounter for the “Teen” housemates. (remember they are just 16-18 years old) The housemates are already in a very tense situation, do they really have to suffer that kind of bullying?

The effect might not be seen for now, but in the long run, if they won’t be guided accordingly, they might just believe in those bad accusations and think lowly of themselves.
